Each line here is a line on the label. Click a column name to insert it, or type any text you want printed. A line whose columns are all empty for a row is left out, so the rest close up.

The layout has no columns in it, so every label is the same. The starting number fills the rest of one sheet.
In the print dialog choose Actual size (100%). “Fit to page” shrinks the sheet and pushes every label off its cut. The PDF asks your viewer for actual size, but check before you print a full run.

Geometry source: LibreOffice label database, Avery Letter Size 5162 (2 x 7, 4.1875in x 1.3333in pitch) (labels.xml). Avery 5262, Avery 5962, Avery 8162, Avery 8462 have identical measurements, so a PDF made for one prints on the others.
Check the fit before you print on labels. Print the blank template on plain paper, hold it against a sheet of Avery 5162 up to the light, and check the boxes land on the cuts. Worth doing with any template on any printer: paper size, driver margins and scaling all shift a sheet. It matters more here: these measurements come from an open label-template database and are checked arithmetically on every build, and the same database reproduces this site’s paper-verified Avery 5160 layout exactly, but Avery 5162 itself has not yet been measured against real stock.

When do you need the height of Avery 5162?
You need Avery 5162 when addresses run to four or five lines. One inch of label height holds three lines at 14 point; a fourth brings every line down to about 12 point, and a fifth to about 10.
At one and a third inches, the 5162 holds four lines at 14 point and five at 13. That extra room is the whole point of the format: it exists for addresses that genuinely have more parts, and for anyone who needs larger type.
What is Avery 5162 used for?
Avery 5162 suits international mail, where a country line sits below the city and postal code, and addresses with a care-of or attention line. It also suits any mailing to an audience that finds small print difficult, since you can set eleven or twelve point type and still fit a full address.
It is also a good general-purpose product label: name, description, date, and a reference number on four separate lines, all legible at arm's length.
How do I print Avery 5162 labels from a spreadsheet?
To print Avery 5162 labels, add your list in the tool on this page, then under More options set a larger size on line one and a smaller one on the lines below. The tool shrinks text to fit if a row overruns, but it is better to choose sizes that fit than to let everything auto-shrink to the floor.
Fourteen per sheet is an unusual number, and it comes from the geometry: two columns of seven, with a deeper top and bottom margin than most of the other address formats, five-sixths of an inch rather than a half, to keep the rows centered on the page.
What type sizes fit on Avery 5162?
On Avery 5162, one and a third inches of label height is ninety-six points, and after the internal padding you have roughly eighty to divide up. That is the number to plan against.
Four lines at fourteen point, with the usual line spacing, comes to about sixty-eight points and sits comfortably. Five lines at eleven point comes to about sixty-seven and also fits. Four lines at eighteen point does not: it needs about eighty-eight, and everything will be scaled down to make room.
For a mailing aimed at older readers, four lines at fourteen or sixteen point is the useful configuration, and it is the main reason to choose this format over a 5161. For a dense product label, five lines at ten or eleven point gives you the most information per label without going below what is comfortable to read at arm's length.
