Arrange the label
Each line here is a line on the label. Click a column name to insert it, or type any text you want printed. A line whose columns are all empty for a row is left out, so the rest close up.

Labels printing a little off?
First print the blank template on plain paper at actual size and check the usual causes. If every label is off by the same amount, move them back here. A minus sign moves left or up. Saved in this browser for this sheet.

The layout has no columns in it, so every label is the same. The starting number fills the rest of one sheet.
In the print dialog choose Actual size (100%). “Fit to page” shrinks the sheet and pushes every label off its cut. The PDF asks your viewer for actual size, but check before you print a full run.

Geometry source: LibreOffice label database, "Avery Letter Size" / 5167 Return Address (labels.xml). Avery 5267, Avery 8167, Avery 6467 have identical measurements, so a PDF made for one prints on the others.
Check the fit before you print on labels. Print the blank template on plain paper, hold it against a sheet of Avery 5167 up to the light, and check the boxes land on the cuts. Worth doing with any template on any printer: paper size, driver margins and scaling all shift a sheet. It matters more here: these measurements come from an open label-template database and are checked arithmetically on every build, and the same database reproduces this site’s paper-verified Avery 5160 layout exactly, but Avery 5167 itself has not yet been measured against real stock.

What is Avery 5167?
Avery 5167 is a US Letter sheet of 80 return address labels, each half an inch tall and one and three-quarter inches wide, in four columns of twenty. The rows touch, the columns are five-sixteenths of an inch apart, and the sheet has a half-inch margin top and bottom.
Avery 5267 and 8167 have the same measurements, 8167 being the inkjet version, and so does 6467, a removable multi-purpose label. A PDF laid out for one of them prints on the others.
How do I fill a sheet of Avery 5167 with the same return address?
To fill an Avery 5167 sheet with one return address, type the address into the label layout with no column names in it: every label then prints the same, and no spreadsheet is needed. The tool fills the rest of one sheet by default, which is all 80 labels on a fresh sheet, and you can change how many.
The return address label page starts with the tool already set up this way. A part-used sheet works too: pick the first unused label on the drawing of the sheet, and the default count covers only what is left.
How much text fits on an Avery 5167 label?
An Avery 5167 label holds three short lines at about 8 point. Half an inch leaves about 30 points of height inside the label's padding, and three lines at 8 point take 29 of them, so a fourth line pushes all four down to about 6 point. Width is less tight than it looks: at 8 point, a line such as "310 Alder Street, Apt 2B" uses about 1.2 of the 1.67 inches available.
A line that is still too wide is shrunk on its own, then cut short with an ellipsis if even the smallest size will not fit. Before that happens, shorten the street suffix the way the Postal Service does in its list of standard street suffix abbreviations: ST for Street, AVE for Avenue, BLVD for Boulevard, DR for Drive.
Can I print a list of addresses on Avery 5167?
Yes: Avery 5167 takes a spreadsheet like any other sheet in the tool, one row per label, eighty rows to a sheet. It suits short entries such as names, part numbers or dates better than full mailing addresses, which read more easily on the larger 5160.
Barcode mode is available but tight here. The bars are less than a fifth of an inch tall, and a value longer than about ten characters narrows them enough for the tool to warn, so barcode labels belong on a taller sheet. If the labels are for holiday cards, the holiday card guide covers the recipients' side of the job.
